Born in Russia, Evgeniya Shamis nearly for 20 years is helping businesses, regions and cities to implement sustainable development projects together with her team. She is an expert in the areas of cluster formation, life quality, human capital, team development and leadership potential, cross-generational interaction. Her clients from different sectors include business corporations, associations, professional communities, government, NGOs, educational institutions in Russia, CIS countries, Brasil, USA, Scandinavia. Among them are Gazpromoil, RUSNANO, Russian Railways, MTS, Yandex, Orion-Pharma, PWC, RUSAL, Frunzensky district of St.Petersburg, Financial Academy under the Government of Russia. Evgeniya delivers strategic sessions for executive teams, acts as facilitator and couch.

“What’s my driver? To make Russia, its regions and institutes act as centers of influence in the global World. It’s important for me to help people, organizations, regions and industries meet, exchange ideas, innovate, create successful products, services and companies and get good results together. What is needed for this? Being “on the edge” – having access to 21-st century global approaches, knowledge and experience. At the same time being aware of experience and solutions of our own country. And being with good people around.

You know, I am definitely pro-regional and pro-cluster motivated. I believe that big changes start from concrete cities, territories, regions, people. From life and work quality improvement there, at these levels”.

As a result Evgeniya started RuGenerations project in 2003 where she helps to build better cross-generational interaction and management, to decipher needs for new Baby-Boomer markets, X, Millenials and even Z solutions. In 2011 she became Harvard Business Review columnist on Generations. Due to her driver she became key moderator for RusInnoMed forum on innovations in healthcare and medicine. That’s why she started other projects: bringing experts and practitioners from various countries of the World to Russia, working with regions on development of globally-competitive clusters. Finally, this is the reason why she shares this cross-industry, cross-sector, cross-country experience and recent deeper BRICS integration – and speaks about it in Russia and internationally.

Her social activities include being Board of Advisors member for AIESEC Russia. In 2012 key activity and challenge for Organizing committee and Board of Advisors was AIESEC International Congress for more then 1500 participants from 111 countries in Moscow, becoming the largest global youth event in Russia since International Youth Festival in 1985. She is also the advisor for the project “Expedition Russia 2012: Track Drawing” and member of Advisory Council on Social Entrepreneurship for Trade Chamber of Russian Federation.

For developing cross-country cooperation Evgeniya was rewarded the Honorary Citizen of St.Louis (Missouri, USA) in 2010 and in 2012 she was awarded with “AIESEC Global Hall of Fame Award” among 9 alumni from 111 countries.

Evgeniya has PhD in Psycholinguistics. She graduated from Eisenhower Fellowship Program, Moscow School of Political Studies, Swedish Institute Management Program, Program of Israel Agency for International Development and also studied in Germany, Spain, China, Great Britain.

She is the author of the book “Words and their meanings: are you sure we understand everything?” Recently she finished writing a new book “On clusters in simple words”.
