Biography of ir. Paul Bessems
Weconomics Foundation
Paul Bessems studied organizational science at the Universality of Eindhoven (The Netherlands). The first years after his graduation, he worked as independent organization consultant for international companies like Texas Instruments en Avery Denison.
In 1994 he started his first professional community in the Dutch Training & Development market. He also advised companies how to improve their work organization en how to transform from company to community or how to connect to a community. Examples are: ADP, AEGON, Allseas, Atos Origin, Baan, Deltalloyd, De Lage Landen, De Nederlandsche Bank, Gemeente Utrecht, Menzis, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, de NAM, Ohra, Oracle, Prorail, Provincie Utrecht, Rijksoverheid, Rijkswaterstaat, Shell, Start People, Tempo-Team, Technicum, Unique en USG Innotiv.
In 2005 he started the IBLC community, a community to deploy people smarter. This experience lead to the development of Weconomics: a new model to organize our work and a program to improve our productivity, flexibility and ability to innovate. Theme’s are for example:
- How can I transform from ‘company’ to ‘community’?
- How can I use social media in a better way (Facebook, Twitter)?
- How can I use web2.0 in a better way (LinkedIn, blog’s etc.)?
- How can I do more work with less people?
Paul is entrepreneur, investor and innovator. He is one of the few thought leaders in the ‘community economy’ area. He gives lectures, writes articles and books about the work we will do in 2020 and how we will organize it.
