prof. dr. Léon de Caluwé

Prof. dr. Léon de Caluwé is part-time professor Consultancy at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Free University). He leads the Centre for Research in Consultancy, which investigates the role, interventions and effectivity of corporate consultants. He has done extensive research into the quality of the advice the Dutch government received in 2002. Prof. de Caluwé is a consultant with 38 years experience.

He is senior partner at Twynstra Gudde Management Consultants in Amersfoort. His advices are based on what he calls 'The human factor'. Examples are: handling of conflicts, cooperation at the highest level, changing the corporate culture, management development, design and execution of implementation routes and organisational development.

Prof. de Caluwé developed the Gaming method. Gaming is used with complex decision making or the implemention of changes in organisations. He also invented a so-called Colour model for Change, which has become extremely popular.

Léon de Caluwé has published articles and books about organisations, change and management, a number of which in English and Russian. His most popular book, 'Learning to Change', a guide for organisation change agents, has been published in the United States recently. He is an active member of the Academy of Management and member of the Board of Directors of the Management Consulting Division.
