1. The Devaluation of ‘Winning’
About managing strategic change. Winning and losing both are the outcome of a psychological struggle or physical battle. The winner grants respect. The loser receives derision: he has failed. “He grabs beside the gold” is a popular expression which looks like failure. “He scored silver” is an expression that sounds like making a top performance. Two different formulations for the same result. Winning and losing are very close to each other. They are two sides of the same medal. Winning has lost its glance, and losing is not that bad at all! The inflation of losing seems to go hand in hand with the devaluation of winning. This workshop offers the strategist the opportunity to get grip on all the crucial elements of strategic ‘winning’ and to lift strategy from a slogan to a choice.
2. Transformation as a surpass for change
Corporations have to transform if they want to survive in the competition battle. Simple change is not enough. “Stagnation means decline” is the reason for fear. Management tends to take refuge in using the change ax to cut not just costs, but the hart out of an organization. Making people responsible for part of the business by creating ‘proactive’ P&L accountable business units. These units have an outstanding failure rate because they tumble-down extremely fast from proactive into reactive illusions. P&L accountable units are nothing less then a cover-up for organizations with a reactive corporate culture. This workshop shows how to create effective alternatives and transformation that sticks.
