Biography of dr. Erik Izraelewicz
Editor in Chief of the newspaper La Tribune
Erik Izraelewicz is the Editor in Chief of the newspaper La Tribune and author of a numerous books about economy, the world and China.
Izraelewicz is a graduate of HEC from 1976, a graduate of the Centre de formation des journalistes (Training Center of Journalists) in 1978 and received his Doctorate degree in International Economics in 1979.
He began his journalist career at L’Expansion in 1981 and stepped over to La Tribune de l'économie (the former name of La Tribune) until the creation of La Tribune de l'Expansion when l’Expansion took La Tribune over in 1985.
In September 1986 he started directing the Economics department at Le Monde and became correspondent in New York in 1993, a columnist in 1994 and in November 1996 he was the head of the redaction of Le Monde.
In February 2000 he joined the daily Business newspaper Les Echos as editor and columnist. In 2006 he became the Deputy Director of the redaction and in 2007 the Editor in Chief. Besides that he participated in the economy department of Europe 1.
In 2008 he left Les Echos and went back to La Tribune, when Alain Weill bought the newspaper, to become the Editor in Chief. He also left Europe 1 to become a columnist of the NextRadioTV. NextRadioTV is also established by Alain Weill.
In 1987 he published Ce monde qui nous attend (The World that awaits us), in 1999 Le capitalisme zinzin (Capitalism zinzin) in 2002 Monsieur Ni-ni : l'économie selon Jospin avec Christine Mital (Mr. Ni-ni: the economy according Jospin Christine Mital) and his last book in 2005 Quand la Chine change le Monde (When China changes the world).
