Biography of Bercan Günel
Founder of Woman Capital and Executive Women International
Bercan was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey and studied Business Administration there at the Bosphorus University. She worked as a specialist in finance and accountancy at Arthur Andersen, first in Istanbul, Turkey, and from 1989 in Amsterdam, promoted from audit assistant to senior auditor to audit manager. In 1996 she became Manager Finance and Facilities for the broadcasting company Nozema. Thereafter she consulted for local Dutch governments with Coopers & Lybrand. Bercan spent two years as Managing Director and shareholder at Interboor Nederland BV and was able to turn the company around. In 2001 she became CFO at Brunel International NV, a listed temp agency with 3500 employees worldwide. Most recently she was Founder and Managing Director of Schoevers Professionals, a recruitment company start-up.
