He travelled to Thailand at an early age for training in Muay Thai, a martial art which is known for its strict and rigorous discipline, it is a result oriented and performance based training that demands a high level of concentration and determination to succeed.
Mr. Van der Veere's experience not only limited in the sporting area but also on the intellectual level. He completed his study of biochemistry in 1981 at the University of Delft, thereafter he pursue a research path to find out the drugs and stimulants consume by young people, how it affects one’s mind and behaviour, the aging processes in general and the efficacy of food supplements. At the same time, he worked as a part-time trainer counselling youth with social problem as well as people who are considered to be social outcasts. With his extensive experience of dealing with such social problem groups and rigid martial arts training, he was invited by the Government to counter the social problem issue in the Netherlands
Arnaud van der Veere was engaged by the Leiden University in the capacity of Asian specialist with primary focus on training its staff and monitors them for transferring to Asia during the 80s, as we see a mass movement of business interest into Asia from Western multinationals. Mr. van der Veere’s knowledge in Asia’s customs and traditions has greatly enhanced and benefitted multinational companies such as Heineken.
In the 1990s he directed his focus on preventive health in a more practical approach when the organization and effectiveness of health care in general was called into question. Mr. Van der Veere developed modules to lower “sick leave”, promoting the integration of foreign workers, particularly Asian at the workplace. By creating communication protocols, the efforts of Asian workers have become more efficient. A combined Western/Asian approach at the international workplace has brought (also non-Western) enterprises significant improvements particularly in the production area. Integration is no longer a theory but a proven successful method.
Mr. Arnaud van der Veere later developed a practical elderly policy in Asian companies based on the "age control" theory. This gives senior stuff the opportunity of extending their working life; they can stay in the business as a consultant and offer their valuable experience to the company. Currently this strategic mission is being implemented in Taiwan and China due to its increasing aging population.
